Micarta
Micarta Examples
Micarta uses either paper, linen, or canvas as a mat compressed under high pressure with epoxy. Stays grippy even when wet.

Colors: The material colors we use do change slightly from the manufacturer due to the lot colors can not be guaranteed and the material’s changing characteristics. Also the many types of finishes on the different materials can create dramatic differences - such as rough grit to polishing. I have tried to include the many different samples.

Antler Examples 2
Antler is a timeless and iconic material still very popular in use as a knife handle. Our antler handles are made of antlers from all around the world, many of which are from our local area in the Adirondack Mountains. You can provide your own and designate what you want (ruff, polished, etc.) and can be fitted to any knife. There is nothing more frontiersman than a stag handle, or custom and personal, than having a handle for your Chax Handmade knife made from your own stag material. Contact for details if needed.

The photographs are not professional. They do not capture the exact colors - but they are close. The major trouble I have is a blue hue in the black materials I photograph. Your monitor settings will also effect colors seen.
Wood
Wood Examples
Various different types of wood is available and almost any wood is possible per the customers request. Cost and availability will vary. Examples of wood types available include Coco Bola, Ironwood, Rosewood and Dymondwood. Dymondwood is a laminated wood manufactured to produce a very unique material, which has the natural beauty of finished wood and still provides a high resistance to heat and moisture. Compressed under high pressure, impregnated with clear resin, the wood then becomes dimensionally stable.

Comes in many different colors & combinations of 2 & 3 colors. Samples may look different depending on the application and because of their origins coming from different lots.
